Can anyone tell me where I can find some roller blades? I really don't want to order them online, because I would prefer to try them on, but I have looked in stores and all I can find are skates for indoors. Any help would be greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.
Looking for roller blades?
Any answer without a clue about where you are is a guess.
Are you in the US -Canada - Europe - Asia?
Are you in a large city, rural area, or something in between?
Trying them on is a REALLY GOOD idea. They all fit differently and not necessarily the same size as your shoes.
You want them to fit snug all around your feet without smashing your toes. If your feet move around in them when you are skating, you will not skate as well and may get blisters from the motion.
In most parts of the US, mid to large cities usually have one or more of the "big box" sporting goods stores like Dick's or Sports Authority. They usually carry the lower to mid level of the good quality brands.
Discount stores like Target or Walmart tend to carry really poor to OK skates. Many of the really poor skates are private labels from unknown companies. It is hard to tell unless you are familier with skates.
If you are near a larger city, check if there is an inline skating club (search on the web, most are not in the phone books) near you. They are likely to tell you who sells skates near you.
I would not recommend a new person to get used skates. It is hard to know what kind of a deal you are actually getting unless you have seen enough skates. If a used pair of skates needs $40 of wheels and bearings, it kills a lot of the price advantage.
Reply:Places like Sports Authority and even Walmart and Target sell skates for outdoors. In actuality, any skates can be used for indoor(rink) or outdoor use.
Reply:try craigslist and local garage sales ::)
