Every time I see rollerblades, I freeze....?

Every time I see rollerblades, I freeze....?

Let me start from the beginning. I use to rollerblade every day for like 2 hours. One day I went outside and was just standing there on roller blades and fell. I broke my leg and had 2 screws put in my leg almost a year ago. (I was 12 years old at the time. Now I am 13.) I have to have the screws taken out in May.

Everytime I see someone rollerblading I just freeze and stare at the rollerblades. The brake just replays over and over in my head. I am like iin a daze. Is that possible? What do you think is wrong when I see rollerblades. It freaks my friends out. Today my friends dad thought I was sick and hadn't eaten all day when the truth was it was the rollerblades. What is happening. It's is almost like I want to rollerblade but I am sooo... scared. What is happening?

Every time I see rollerblades, I freeze....?
It sounds like post traumatic stress disorder. it happens when you have a traumatic experience (like yours) which causes some kind of chemical reaction in your brain. don't worry - it's totally treatable. your's sounds pretty mild, too.

have a look at this website:

Reply:The trauma of your accident has not gone out of your mind. Your mental replay suggests that you are stuck there and have not moved ahead. Your body has healed but your mind has not.

If you can get Star of Bethlehem and Mimulus (Bach Flower Essences available in almost all health food stores and or online), and take them for a few days, I feel you will be OK. How do skaters dress, like at an interview?

this is for my project and i gotta dress up as Tara Lipinski. And I need 3 props. I already chose the idea of doing a medal. FYI, i don't have ice skates and im not allowed to buy things for my project. SO WHAT CAN I DO? make a fool outta my self and use my roller blades

How do skaters dress, like at an interview?
Can you borrow ice skates? You don't have to wear them, just carry them as an ice skater would. You could wear a one piece bathing suit if you have one, and wear a short skirt over it with tights or leggings. Make sure the skirt is flowy though, or else it won't look right. Use your medal, and you'll be all set!
Reply:Definitely use the blades... and a ton of makeup. Also: try some panty hose and a short skirt.

PHYSICS QUESTION!!??? please help.....?

You are on roller blades on top of a large hill. Your potential energy is equal to 1000 joules. Your mass is 60 kg.

What is your weight in Newtons?

What is the height of the hill?

Any help would really be appriciated. I really don't understand this stuff.

PHYSICS QUESTION!!??? please help.....?
Ug=1000j

m=60kg

g=9.8m/s2

knowing this, and the following formulae

weight=FORCE of gravity=Fg=mg

Ug=mgh %26lt;-- h=height

You simply replace the values in the formulae and solve! go figure

for weight Fg=(60kg)(9.8m/s^2)

for height.... h=Ug/mg h=Ug/Fg so height is equal to potential energy over weight. h=1000J/(60kg)(9.8m/s2)

NOW... knowing how easy this stuff is, don't embarrass yourself and start solving the problems. No one is going to give you the answers during the test. Unless you have no shame copying.

Things I've learned from my child Boys (honest)...?

Things I've learned from my child Boys (honest)...

1. A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq. ft. house, 4 inches deep.

2. If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.

3. A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.

4. If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound Boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all Four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.

5. You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.

6. The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.

7. When you hear the toilet flush and the words "uh oh" it's already too late.

8. Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.

9. A six-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year old Man says they can only do it in the movies.

10. Certain Lego's will pass through the digestive tract of a 4-year old Boy.

11. Play dough and microwave should not be used in the same sentence.

12. Super glue is forever.

13. No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.

14. Pool filters do not like Jell-O.

15. VCRs do not eject "PB %26amp; J" sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do.

16. Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.

17. Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.

18. You probably DO NOT want to know what that odor is.

19. Always look in the oven before you turn it on; plastic toys do not like ovens.

20. The fire department in Austin, TX has a 5-minute response time.

21. The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.

22. It will, however, make cats dizzy.

23. Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.

24. 80% of Men who read this will try mixing the Clorox and brake fluid.

25. Women will pass this on to almost all of their friends, with or without kids.

Which anime is this???

Well, I have vague memories about this one... I even watched it on youtube.... :p A lil quizzie for all you anime freaks....

Here are some clues: * the anime consists mostly of psychological stuff.... *somewhere in the opening theme - "children are like mushroom clouds in the sky".... *and the anime starts out with a character who is supposedly a young boy who roams about on roller blades, and knocks out people with a baseball bat.* *one of the protagonists carries a pink dog like toy along with here all the time...even talks with it..she's pretty much of a grown up but doesn't look like one.*

well, there you are, I gave out two major clues.. Good luck solving it! ^_~

Is it easier for an adult to learn to skate with heelys vs other skates?

I never really learned to skate very well as a kid (with the 4 wheels kind) and it surely didn't get any better when roller blades came out. so, my question, i'd love to learn to skate, but i don't want to fall, so is it easier to learn to skate with the new heelys? thank you.

Is it easier for an adult to learn to skate with heelys vs other skates?
NO! Heely's and Quads (that's what you call roller skates, as opposed to Rollerblades) are two TOTALLY different things. Heely's are a kids toy with a wheel in the heel...quad wheels are obviously much larger, and in the front and the back of the shoe! :) There's no comparison...and that's coming from someone that's been skating on quads since 4. Skating is EASY...just be patient and expect to fall. The less afraid you are to fall, the less you'll fall...you just have to stay loose and go with the flow. If all else fails... a lot of rinks give lessons. Heck the rink by me does them for free when you're paying admission and make an appointment
Reply:You have two excellent ans. here that I agree with, couldn't say it better,if it is in lines or quads RELAX ,wear the gear, listen to the music ,look ahead and roll on .
Reply:I don't think Heelys are really all that much like skating. You'd think that since they're both wheels on your feet, it would be similar but the form is totally different.

When skating or rollerblading, you build speed and momentum as you go. Heelys are basically just used for coasting. From what I've seen you just run then lean back on your heels and slide. There is little control and it isn't sustainable.

If I was on rollerblades racing the fastest heely user ever, I'd be so far ahead he wouldn't be able to see me after a minute.

Get yourself some good rollerblade and some good pads and take it slow.

Work out help!! i need tips plz!!!?

Could someone help me? i want to be healthier and look better, but i dont know exactly how. here are some equipment i have to use:

5. a bike

6.roller blades

so could someone plz help me!

I just want to lose weight, not a specific amount of weight, but enought to look better ( abs, Tryceips, byceips, theighs, butt, etc..) thnxs oxox

Work out help!! i need tips plz!!!?
The most important step in reaching your goal is maintaining a healthy, balanced diet. Eat 4-6 small, wholesome meals a day that consist of lean protein, whole grains, vegetables, and occasionally a small amount of fresh fruit. If you eat every 2.5-3 hours, you'll maintain an even level of energy that will keep your metabolic processes from storing the calories you eat as fat. This will also help you maintain as much solid muscle mass as possible while you lose weight. Just remember to keep your portions small, stay away from processed sugars and fats, and drink a lot of water.

You should keep in mind that muscle is what burns calories and sheds fat. Search for some simple strength-building routines that you can practice at home using your dumbells. Incorporate exercises that utilize your own body weight like pull-ups, crunches, and push-ups. Cardiovascular sessions like running and swimming are great for endurance and you can burn around 300-500 calories, but resistance training will keep your metabolism high and will continue to burn extra calories while you sit on your ***, hours after you work out.

I've been bodybuilding for six years now and these principals have helped me build a strong, lean body. Just stay consistent and you'll develop habits that will improve your way of life.
Reply:aim: desertlocust7 Report It

Reply:You can use the Gazelle, treadmill, rollerblades and bike for cardio.

With the weights you can do bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, pec flyes.

For legs you can do squats, walking and stationary lunges.

Abs exercises include-crunches,leg lifts, bycycles, and torso twists.

Swim a few times a week.
Reply:Hey mate!! I have written a guideline of everything I tell my clients to do which actually works! (I am a personal trainer). Follow this and you will get down to a healthy weight. It may take a few months or it may take a year but start right now!!!!

You should aim to do 40-60minutes of weight training 4 times a week and add in a couple of walks/jogs in between. Get some dumbells (5kgs) and do 3 sets of 6-8 exercises x 15reps. For example:

15 x chest press (With weights)

15 x Lunges (With weights)

15 x Pushups

15 x Squats (With weights)

15 x Bicep Curls (With weights)

15 x Burpees

(Do all of the above 3 times - If you get bored of these email me I can give you hundreds more!)

Then do crunches, some oblique twists and transverse holds (plank ) for abs and core stability.

Aim to do weights for 40minutes 3-4 times a week. Make sure you give your muscles a rest in between. Go for runs on the days you dont do weights (Aim for atleast 30 minutes of running). It has been proven in many studies that the best way to lose fat is to weight train. Every pound of muscle you gain increases your metabolism which burns more calories. Weight training also has an after burn effect which means that more calories are burned throughout the day whereas doing only cardio will only burn fat during your workout time. So weight train weight train weight train!!!!! This is the best advice I can give to everyone. If you are a woman you will not get bulky as you do not have enough testosterone in your body to build big muscles. You will just turn your body into a slim, lean, toned fat burning machine!!! Men will definitely build muscle mass depending on the amount they lift!

Also never ever give yourself a time limit. Make a commitment to do this the rest of your life. Too many people go on training/dieting benders for a couple of weeks then give up once they hit their goal. Doing everything I reccomended will give you awesome reults but there is no miracle quick fix to losing weight.

Drink looooaaaadddsss of water. Dont drink nothing. Water is your best friend when losing weight as it fills you up, reduces your appetite and keeps you hydrated.

For your food intake eat loads of vegetables, fruit, nuts, chicken, fish, brown rice, brown bread, lentils. Cut out all highly processed high carbohydrate sugary foods. Also try to avoid foods high in saturated fat. Try not to go over about 1500calories. Always go for low G.I!

I hope this helps anyone who is trying to lose weight. Believe me weights are a girls (and guys) best friend :)
Reply:curls, triceip extensions, squts, lunges with weights, cardio, crunches
Reply:for your legs and butt. the best exercise with the equipment you have is some lunges with the 7 pound weight.

Why do younger men hit on older women?

Men 27-28 and in their 30's and 40's are hitting on an almost 50 year old lady. She's an immature 50 - had to hang up her roller blades last year. She has a well educated daughter in her early 20's and a 7 year old cutie pie daughter. She looks hot and sexy and is single - would these guys actually consider marrying her. She doesn't have much for money but she's cute, sweet and very nice. What do you think?

Why do younger men hit on older women?
Maybe because most older women are

comfortable with who they are as people.

They are usually more self-confident

and self-assured.

They are not usually moody, needy,

whiny, or emotionally dependent.

They know how to ask for what they

want, and they are a lot less inhibited.

They also tend to be better-educated, more

intelligent and worldly- and many of today's

50-somethings do not resemble the

50-somethings of yesteryear.
Reply:Older women know how to take care of their man. They don't play games.
Reply:older women could be a easy lay
Reply:Maybe because they have Oedipus Complex.
Reply:hormones
Reply:because men need to be taken care of. so they look for a mommy to fill the gap.
Reply:TELL THAT GRANNY TO GO GRANNY GO GRANNY.
Reply:I do not know about marriage but hey can have a really good.
Reply:Older women are usually alot less clingy and needy. Sometimes guys just want casual physical relationships and older women are usually more inclined to give them that. Because often that's all they want themselves.
Reply:they don,t what to rush young girls, so they date women that are ready to have sex.
Reply:What the hell does hitting have to do with marriage?
Reply:All men want is sex. Their first preference will be the easier ones to get, and then comes the age. I can tell you, none of them will be ready to marry her. They just do all this for a fling. Guys, no hard feelings.
Reply:creepy...
Reply:Don't really know, but being a 47 year old woman, I know that younger men are attractive because they are not so "needy" and "clingy". They are fun to be with and aren't worried about how old they are getting. They like you for who YOU are and are not looking for someone younger to make themselves feel better about getting older. And what's wrong with roller blades at 50? Exercise is healthy and everyone should do what is fun for them.
Reply:Good for her, but I hope she chooses the right one to marry... if she plans on doing that. If she doesn't, she should have fun and flirt!
Reply:cuz they are angry at each other
Reply:I've seen plenty MILFS that I would marry.

I know plenty of guys that are mature for their age. Think of it like this...If she acts ten years younger like a 40 year old, and he acts like he is 10 years older then he would be 38. So there is really only a 2 year age difference here to speak of.

You know what they say "You're only as old as you feel".
Reply:If she is very feminine and sure of herself, lots of guys think that is a turn on.She may be young at heart, rollerblades and all, but inside she is a mature girl. That seems to be appealing to many men.
Reply:age isnt a big deal. im 39 and my last girlfriend is 49. she was attractive and very nice. until i got to know her all to well. but i have recently even made passes at a previous co worker who is only 23. its attractivness and compatability. i kinda get the feeling that it is youre mom youre talking about.
Reply:Because we are looking for an already established woman. Most of the young chicks are thinking in party and pink clouds. Older women are more romantic and brained.
Reply:puts out a lot

Are there any in-line skates or Rollerblades that transform into a shoe?

Ok here is my dilemma, I work as a walking messenger in a major city. I always thought that roller blades would get my job done a lot faster.. But the main problem I'm not allowed to bring Rollerblades into office building or the Subway or Buses.

What I need is a pair of rollerblades that can easily detach from the shoe part so I can do my job faster.

Are there any in-line skates or Rollerblades that transform into a shoe?
I got the perfect pair, but they arnt cheap. http://secure.rollerwarehouse.com/item/X... you put on this shoe, than you put the shoe into the rollerblade and velcro and clip them together than you can skate.
Reply:heelys will do the job great. you can purchase them at academy sporting goods( www.academy.com ) big 5, or from the company itself, heres the website www.heelys.com, if the site is not found just go to ebay, or google and type in "heelys", and you should get your answer.

hope that helps! p.s. their a little hard to use at first, also you insert the wheels right at the heel, and be sure not to step with your heel.

ANOTHER PHYSICS QUESTION???..... please help me.....?

You are on roller blades on top of a large hill. Your potential energy is equal to 1000 joules. You weigh 60kg (588N). If you start skating down this hill, your potential energy will be converted to kinetic energy. At the bottom of the hill, your kinetic energy will be equal to your potential energy at the top.

What will be your speed at the bottom of the hill?

I really don't understand this. Please help.

ANOTHER PHYSICS QUESTION???..... please help me.....?
according to principle of conservation of energry ur total potential enrgy will be changed in to kinetic energy, neglecting the energy losses and assuming no physical work is done during skatting ie you skate freely.

kinetic energy of a body is given by m* v^2 /2, where m is the mass and Velocity. u know total kinetic energy and the mass so it is a matter of substituting.
Reply:ke=1000

1/2mv^2=1000
Reply:mgh=1/2 m v^2 ==%26gt; 1000=1/2 * 60 * v^2 ===%26gt;v^2=100/3===%26gt;v=10/(3^1/2)

if we don't have friction the first energy is same as final energy!
Reply:since potential energy is transferred to kinetic energy, they are equal

PE = KE

expand KE, you don't have to expand PE because they already gave it to you.

PE = 1/2mv^2

now just plug in chunks

1000J = 1/2(60kg)v^2

just solve for v

What do I do?

I love %26lt;LOVE%26gt; to rollerblade at this lake. However, a lady and her dog ruin my experience. She’s got this miniature black poodle named “Fifi” and every time I roll by them, she scolds, “Fifi no”, then the miniature monster dogs starts to bark and charge me … then the owner yanks the chain, and the dogs front feet come off the ground … it looks like she’s choking the dog! Then the lady always says, “Sorry, she just hates roller blades, and bicyclists, and scooters”.

I’ve tried to go at different times in the day, but that lady and her stupid dog always show up when I’m there. I used to do midnight blading, but I lost my guy friend who joined me for these adventoures. I’m rollerblading less because of this insanity!!! I need to rollerblade...it's like air to me.

What do I do?
Consider stopping and trying to get to know the dog. Perhaps if you had a treat. Then the dog may not freak out when it sees you.

I would not give up something I love over this. Yes it's a bummer; however, not something you should ever allow to ruin your own joy.
Reply:Get a can of HALT or a similar dog repellent and spray the dog as soon as it starts to bark and go after you. After a couple shots in teh snout the dog will learn or the lady will avoid you like the plague.

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/penncyclebuy...

You have as much right to be there as she does (uless of course there are signs posted saying "No Rollerblading")
Reply:Try roller-blading somewhere else. Or try to avoid that maniac dog. If worst comes to worst, get those little dog whistles (the ones that deter dogs) and activate it as you go near the dog.
Reply:You can't let strange people stop your enjoyment of the activities you love. Just ignore her, and if you see her coming near you, skate away.
Reply:"i need to rollerblade..it is like air to me!"...did you mean that rollerblading gives you wind????

scared by a miniature dog??? you dont deserve to rollerblade...

worried about causing death-by-hanging for a black dog with a dodgy name? Shame on you!..be a man..go ahead, run it down..i mean blade it down...

Whenever you are there, she is there? Maybe it is all that wind letting her get wind of you coming out of your house.....
Reply:Try spraying the pup with canned air when it comes near. (You might ask the owner so that she doesn't freak, but it could be helpful for her, too, if you do this.) Harmless, but could cause little Fifi to stop chasing you.

There are other slightly scented sprays meant for teaching dogs to stay away from certain places and things. You might want to try one of them. Get the dog used to being sprayed. Then, spray the scent on yourself before going blading.

These are things that I would try. It might be necessary for a week or so, but then, if it works, the problem might be solved.
Reply:carry dog bones and next time you start rollerblading by stop and make friends maybe Fifi will then associate you and your scent with Yummies and stop attacking. Just don't forget the treats everytime you go or she may start to react negatively to you again. Explain to the owner why you are doing this so she doesn't think you are poisoning the dog. Enjoy
Reply:Can you not rollerblade somewhere else? Is it really messing you up that bad? It's not like the dogs are biting you... just avoid them by skating round them.
Reply:Keep rollerblading.

I wanted to write something funny like 'rollerblade over the dog...' but then I realized you must be pretty sensitive since you asked such a question in the first place. So don't do that. But do keep rollerblading, and do your best to ignore the dog.
Reply:if you could ignore her and her dog
Reply:LOL!

Well, hmm. You could go to another park and crap (I meant, you can go to another park and ROLLERBLADE...in the phrase 'and crap' I did not mean that literally). :)

I know how you feel, dood. I used to know this little doggie named Sammie- I would start hootin' and hollerin', just to get him all riled up n chit- and he would get really pissed off at me, and would try to break free from his chain in the backyard. He probably would have violently assailed my lower extremeties and junk, had he excaped from his shackles. Love- me.
Reply:After you try all the stuff that has been posted so far.... poison darts from a blow gun. You could get to the park first... hide behind (or up in) a tree... then... phtht! Goodnight dog.
Reply:Girl,i think you should talk to the lady. That's the first thing you can do. Tell her how your feeling with that. then you both can discuss the solution. Other, Ask the lady to tight her dog tighter. Or you maybe can find another route to do your hobby. Why dont you take your friend with you? If you are together in large group, then you'll be stronger and less of fear to the dog. Maybe you can talk to your parent, too.
Reply:As a dog owner I can see how the woman is trying her best. My dog also gets incredibly excited at times and I have to yank on the leash - his front feet come off the ground, too but he is not "choking". If you do not feel in any danger by the dog (it sounds like the woman keeps it pretty controlled as it doesn't chase you down), don't change a thing! Or if you want to try to appease the dog, ask the owner it is ok to toss it a few treats as you go by. After a few days of getting yummy treats, the dog while probably have such a better association with rollerbladers.

How do you get rid of a dog's stick obsession?

My 10 month old lab is obsessed with sticks/wood. If i leave him unattended in the backyard he finds old logs or chews the deck. When we walk him he is on a hunt for sticks, he rips roots outta the ground, gets branches that are still attached the tree. We give him lots of exercises-bike ride, roller blades, hikes. His worst is at the dog park, he's territorial and growls at dogs near him and literally finds the largest, biggest stick there. Any help?

How do you get rid of a dog's stick obsession?
Try carrying little snacks to distract him whenever you see him going for a stick - get his attention, feed him the snack, and keep walking as he's chewing. That way, if he's got something in his mouth, he can't pick up a stick. As for the backyard, I'm at a loss for a suggestion, Sorry.

As for his territory issues, I would strongly suggest obedience classes - he's only 10 months old now, and this is only going to get worse.
Reply:Sounds like my Blue Heeler Cross, he is obsessed with sticks, he destroys trees and plants and chews up the biggest sticks possible.

My dog is just over 12 months old and I have been doing basic training with him now for 9 months and he will now leave on command. So thats how I stop the stick behaviour when we go out, and at home, I have fenced him away from the gardens and the house because he liked to chew the steps. I just remove everything out of his reach. The growling at dogs it a scared thing, he needs to be socialized and shown that dogs arent a bad thing. Think about joining your local dog obedience club or send your dog along to a doggy day care centre for a couple days a month. It works with alot of dogs I train.
Reply:I tend to agree, sounds like he is asserting his dominance over the other dogs. I would definitely suggest more socialization for him. Make sure it is on a lead though so you can pull him back if need be.

As far as the stick goes, not a horrible thing...Is it possible to just give him a stick to carry around when you are out and about? Or does he just want to tear it apart instead of carrying it around?

He is still a baby at 10 months. They do like to chew!

Miss Lily Bug
Reply:it might not really be a serious problem but if you really want to get rid of this obsession then take him to a behavorist. you could also trick the dog and get a bunch of wood, spray them all with bitter apple spray or hot chili sause and wait for him to grab at it, he then might lose his obsession to sticks because of the weird and unappitizing taste. if not, then either use a hotter sause or just get rid of all the wood (which is litteraly impossible but its worth a try)
Reply:I think He's trying to assert his dominance instinct. Is he ALPHA or just a wanna BE? That is the question.

Does anybody have costume ideas for a halloween skating party?

I'm going roller blading with my school for halloween. I need a costume that is school appropriate, won't get in the way of my extreme skating, looks okay with roller blades and is easy to make or cheap to buy. Any ideas?

Does anybody have costume ideas for a halloween skating party?
Vampire...black outfit, use a eyeliner pencil to peak your hair on your forehead and arch your eyebrows, heavy eyeshadow, fangs and fake blood dribbled on the corners of your mouth.

You can buy a vampire makeup kit with the fangs and blood for about $8.00...you can also buy colored hairspray if you want to add the white streaks to your hair.
Reply:I don't know if you have seen "Little Nicky" but there is a bird in hell that is really funny and I think you would look really funny if you dressed up as a huge bird.

What is the song name in the film STEAL with Stephen Dorff ?

A gang of four thieves rob a bank and use roller blades to escape from the cops. This is the first of several daring robberies they have planned – the second involving an armoured car and an underwater escape. When they pull that off they find that, not only do they get the cash they wanted but they have also stolen millions worth of bonds. Things look good for everyone as they know they will at least be able to get half their value through a shifty broker; meanwhile though they not only have to cope with the cops but also some other groups that want the gang for other reasons.

When this film started I immediately thought of a French short film called Argent Content which was a substanceless but enjoyable short about a bank robbery followed by a cool roller skate escape. That short was style over substance but the short running time saved it. However Riders moved past this copy and started to just lift lots of stuff from other films – Heat, Sneakers etc, all the genre clichés are forced into the movie but sadly nobody took the time to structure them into a worthwhile film that made any sense. So many things are thrown at the screen but they make no sense nor do they hang together. So we have stunts for the sake of stunts, characters that lack any motivation, a Heat-style relationship that appears as quickly as it disappears and a plot that is just all over the place. It isn't awful but it is just so inane you wonder how on earth anyone ever though it was a good idea.

The cast seem promising on paper but on film they are mostly confused and poor. Dorff is sexy and has good presence but he cannot make anything of his confused character – but he does look sexy nonetheless. Henstridge is also sexy but other than that you have to wonder how long she worked on the movie – all the rest of her scenes could have been done in a few days before getting sweaty with Dorff. The idea that their characters would have somehow had a Pacino/De Niro relationship is just laughable. Speaking of laughable, Bruce Payne is in this film and is terrible. However at least he is in the movie, which cannot be 100% said for Steven Berkoff who just appears to be in his entirely own, twisted little film. Bennett, Cliché and McCarthy are all reasonable in support but neither they nor anyone else can do anything with this shambles of a film.

The crazy style of Taxi might have worked once but Pires' attempts to do it again here just fall flat and it just falls flat on its face from the very start. Pointless and inane and will please only the very, very undemanding genre fan.

What is the song name in the film STEAL with Stephen Dorff ?
These are the only songs I can find associated with this film.

Rapid Weight Loss - Is it possible????

HI EVERYBODY,

I'm going on a vacation in just over a month and really need to lose 10 pounds. I'm not working right now so I have LOTS of time to work out and I'll do ANYTHING - no matter how hard or time-consuming to do it. I have access to a full-equipped gym, swimming pool, track, roller blades, etc. BUT .... realistically, is it possible???

If so, what's your best advice on how to do it?? I should also tell you that I am 42 years of age, 5'9", 180 lbs., with no handicaps or disabilities. I enjoy swimming, step aerobics, weight-lifting, roller-blading and cycling.

THANKS VERY MUCH for your RESPONSE !!!

Rapid Weight Loss - Is it possible????
Listen: you need to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.

Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Good luck and stick at it.
Reply:Actually there is a diet like this in the kit for "six week body makeover"...of course the kit costs at least $100, but it does work!
Reply:you could really start lookin good in even just that short amount of time if you follow the program outlined in the book "Body for Life" by Bill Phillips.
Reply:go 3 days with cutting your carbs to 30 - 40 grams. but you have to eat right. NO JUNK. this should get your body into ketosis and excercise. just do brisk walking. get a pedometer and walk about 10,000 to 13000 steps. then the next few days increase your carbs to 50 - 70 grams a day. Good Luck
Reply:Rapid weight loss isn't really possible unless you're on a "Miami Diet." (If you don't know what that is.. it's basically a coke or other drug binge) I'm NOT recommending that in any way, shape, or form. Weight loss takes time.. you could take pills such as "Stackers" (there are many out there to choose from) to aid in your weight loss. You seem to enjoy exercise, but the other part to losing weight is diet. If you drink soda, cut back.. or stop completely. That does wonders!
Reply:Well, realistically, it IS possible, if you can lose 1.5-2 pounds a week. It depends on your body type/level of fitness and overall health, and it will also greatly depend on what it is you're eating. As long as you do it the right way, you'll have no worries - especially if you're just starting the diet, because your metabolism will be shocked the first week or so, and you might lose twice the amount of weight you'd normally lose, though I must point out that your metabolism gets slower as you age. Have a nice vacation.
Reply:reducing your calorie intake by 500 a day and 30 mins. of cardio a day
Reply:Quick weight loss is possible if you know how. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.

Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Get latest info like American Heart Association does not want you to eat more than 6 ounces daily of meat, fish or poultry. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

Reply:methamphetamine :) just kidding

i lost close to 10 pounds in a week. no kidding... or the weighing scale was tampered with i dont know...

here's what i did...

30 minutes of heavy aerobics everynight before i sleep

eat half as much for every meal... eat a light snack between meals and two snacks after dinner about two to 3 hours apart,

do some breathing excercises every hour (except when sleeping)

maybe all that weight is muscle weight?

Can anyone give me some ideas and do you know about schools for strong willed children?

My strong willed child is 5 years old. He just started kindergarden and as of now I have been called twice by the vice principal. Number one because my son had food on his chin and the kids started making fun of him. My son got upset and started blowing his food out and got extremely mad with the kids because they where laughing at him. Second, apparently his classroom has two problem childs. Today my son join them when they where playing around in the classroom and didn't focus in class because he was playing with the two kids. The third problem was that some girl threw spit on my son so teacher separated them. The teacher beg my son 5 minutes and he wouldn't move because he felt that he hadn't done anything wrong. My husband and I have taken away his roller skates, roller blades, swimming, nintendo..you name it and he doesn't care. We don't know what to do. We are even thinking of sending him to some military camp or a good school for strong willed children.

Help.

Can anyone give me some ideas and do you know about schools for strong willed children?
"Strong willed?" What is that, some PC term for UNDISCIPLINED? Kids are tough. You need to be tougher. And don't make excuses for him. You write like you think he is being unfairly treated, but I've seen kids that warrant a call to the parents, and the parents are usually too afraid to discipline their child. Instead, they make excuses and call them "strong willed" instead of "brats."
Reply:I am a university student, majoring in psychology, specializing in child psychology. I am no "professional" (yet), but I may have some advice for you.

It does not appear that he is strong willed, but rather just flat out has behavioral problems. You made a list of everything that you and your husband have taken away from him-- those are posessions and when it comes right down to it, mean nothing to him. It is YOU and YOUR ATTENTION that your child wants. Every time that you or your husband have to address his behavior, he accepts your attention. Negative attention is at least attention to a child.

I would like to go back to what you and your husband have taken away from him- Roller Skates, Roller Blades, Nintendo, , Swimming, etc.-- all things that he has to do by himself. You need to start encouraging games and behaviors in which he has to work WITH others. Skating, he may have you right there watching but he is feet away from you-- you could encourage games such as twister, in which he has to work with you and whomever he plays with, to ensure that both do not fall. Doing crafts (drawing posters, etc.) encourages creativity, and if someone is working on it with him (such as a friend of his), they have to share ideas and crayons/markers.

As for his behavior in school-- several issues pop up as red flags in what you wrote. First and foremost, you wrote that the teacher had to beg your child to move to another seat. No teacher should have to beg a child to behave or to follow directions. The other thing I noticed is that you said that other children were laughing at your child at lunch, and his classmates were also "instigators" in the actions that your child ended up engaging in. You seem to focus more on who is at fault (always the other children, in your opinion), and not on what is or is not appropriate responses to the other children's behavior. Instead of punishing your child for his reactions, you need to focus more on teaching your child appropriate reactions. Instead of just taking things away from him, you should focus on educating him on other people's feelings.

One example is to use "I" messages-- you could say (when your child is called into the principal;s office), " 'Tommy', when you get called into the principal's office, it makes me feel frustrated, because I know that you are a good boy, and know how to behave, yet you made the choice to misbehave." And you could say " 'Tommy', when those children were laughing at you, how did that make you feel?" and when he tells you, listen to him and explain that it is alright to feel angry/sad/mad, etc. and that you can completely understand how others laughing at him would make him feel that way, "but the way you reacted is not appropriate. Can you think of other ways to stop their laughing at you, that would have been better?" That way, your child learns critical thinking skills while at the same time learning better ways to handle his anger/frustration, etc.

I am suprised that you would even ask about schools for strong willed children-- if your child knows you would consider that, you are teaching your child that there are conditions to your love, and your child will develop security issues. A parent's love for a child HAS TO BE unconditional. That means "I will love you, no matter what you do". By even thinking about sending your child away to a "strong willed school" you are teaching him that if he does not do what you want (in this case, behave) you will just send him away and remove your love from him. I am not saying that you mentioned that to your child, but I am letting you know if your child found out you would consider sending him away.

There is no such thing as problem children-- there is only problem parenting (I AM NOT SAYING THE PARENTS ARE THE PROBLEM, I am saying that the parenting methods are the problem). Instead of just taking his belongings away from him, you have to set down a "choice/consequence" rule with him. For every behavior, there is a consequence. Positive behavior allows for positive consequences (two weeks of not getting in trouble in school is rewarded with a trip to the park for a couple of hours, a whole month is rewarded with a trip to the movies) Negative behaviors allows for negative consequences (a trip to the principal's office has the negative consequences of losing his video game for a week, etc.). This teaches your child that in life, there are choices and conesequences-- if he chooses to behave, he will see positive consequences.

And the most important rule is this:

Speak to your child on his own level-- Do not yell (that teaches that yelling is an acceptable form of communication), but rather speak in a nice, calm tone, and get down on your knee to be able to speak to him eye to eye. That will encourage good communication, and will greatly reduce your stress. And be consistant. Do not change the rules in midstream without letting the child know what those rules are. And you must be consistant.

Edited to include:

Do not use spanking as a discipline method. That teaches the child that the best way to get your point across and make others behave as you want them to, is to hit them. You will have future problems if you use hitting a child as a way to "control" the child.

Good luck, and please feel free to email me if you have any more issues.
Reply:First of all as a parent of a few children of my own, when are you going to realize you are the PARENT. A "strong willed" child is a child who has never had any form of DISCIPLINE. This is were spankings come in handy, you don't take things away that don't matter thinking, "that will show him.". Time out and "talking" to the child will do nothing, this kid knows that he is BOSS. You are all to afraid to confront him and put the ever loving fear of Mom/Dad in him. Until you show him who is boss he is never going to listen. That or you can put him on some drug and prepare him for a life in prison; or you can do your job as a parent. I really don't now how else to explain this. Don't blame the school, the other children, or anyone but yourself. Do not use P.C. garbage in front of me, your child is a BRAT, plain and simple and until you do something about it he will always run all over you.
Reply:Boot camp, Jail, Reform school!
Reply:Well it sounds to me that you have an Indigo Child.

As a summary, here are the ten attributes that best describe this new kind of child, the Indigo Child

They come into the world with a feeling of royalty (and often act like it)

They have a feeling of "deserving to be here," and are surprised when others don't share that.

Self-worth is not a big issue. They often tell the parents "who they are."

They have difficulty with absolute authority (authority without explanation or choice).

They simply will not do certain things; for example, waiting in line is difficult for them.

They get frustrated with systems that are ritually oriented and don't require creative thought.

They often see better ways of doing things, both at home and in school, which makes them seem like "system busters" (nonconforming to any system).

They seem antisocial unless they are with their own kind. If there are no others of like consciousness around them, they often turn inward, feeling like no other human understands them. School is often extremely difficult for them socially.

They will not respond to "guilt" discipline ("Wait till your father gets home and finds out what you did").

They are not shy in letting you know what they need.

Hope this helps - really when you understand what these kids are really all about they are gift to humanity.

People who are 25 years old. question.?

I've noticed that American kids now are riding on electric/gas scooters, sit all day on the computer. Children are getting fatter and fatter.

When I was young, I did a paper route and saved up so I could buy my own bike. I still remember my 10 speed Huffy. I thought it was cool because it had mud tires and a lot of neon green stickers.

I also remember when I got my first roller blades(upgraded from Roller Skates). Jump rope was cool, pogo sticks, Skip-its.

Well, my point is, when we were young, we did things that were fun and physically demanding.

What are some things that you did when you were young and what are some things now that just make you mad?

People who are 25 years old. question.?
when I was a child I used to build forts from limbs and rocks, or from beds, boxes and blankets. I used to go walking, climbing trees, and imagining I was in lands of dragons and wood elves and speak appropriately to each while always watching the sun to prevent the goblins from grabbing my ankles as I ran to the door for dinner. As I got older I wrote and read alot.

It makes me angry and sad to see 7 year olds with cell phones, 8 year olds with ipods, and crying because they got the green one and not the blue!
Reply:I agree! I teach 7th grade, and most of my students spend their days drooling in front of the TV or wasting brain cells playing video games for hours. When I was a kid, we played outside all day until it was time to go in for dinner. We played in the pond, picked blackberries, jumped on the trampoline, and went rock climbing. I think parents should "unplug" their kids and make them go outside and play!

I need help finding what kind or wheels i need for my rollerblades?

well see i have this pair of roller blades and lately i went to the roller rink and my skate kept on slipping, and i believe it was my wheels so what kind of wheels should i get to fix that problem?

I need help finding what kind or wheels i need for my rollerblades?
How new are the wheels? They tend to grip better if they are scuffed up a bit.

I use the ZeroDrag Racing 82A (http://www.rollerbob.com/cat-10.html) indoors on a sealed concrete floor (www.roller-dome.com).

If you need a smaller diameter wheel, you can email Bob (the address is on his web site to find out which ones he recommends for whatever surface your rink has.

If your wheels are larger, he just got some in (expensive) that the local racers are raving about. One of them was saying that he had used them for one night so far and could not get them to slip. They are not on his web page yet.

Hockey Equipment Help!?

Ok, im a serious ice hockey player and i practice outside on my roller blades alot doing drills and practicing my shot. My roller skates RBK 4.0's fit fine and i tie them tight but they inside of the skates seems to rub against my skin and now a blister is forming on my ankle. Any Advice?

Hockey Equipment Help!?
Place a piece of foam over the irritated area. You can get low profile, mid density foams at pharmacies or medical supply stores. A small square will protect the tender region without being too bulky or obstructive in the skate.

You see a lot of the pros using these pink or green foams to help with the skate bite pains that invariably occur over a long season.
Reply:High quality socks.

If your cotton socks (you are wearing socks, right??) aren't doing it, try something that will create more of a friction barrier between your boot and your foot.

http://www.campmor.com/webapp/wcs/stores...

If you're not wearing socks, that's why you're getting blisters.

Plus... not wearing socks will make your skates stink.
Reply:I know they heat up the actual skates for a custom fit. Maybe take them to were you got them and see if they will do that for your Rollerblades.
Reply:What part of the ankle?

Something is rubbing the area causing the blister to form. You may have the roller blades too tight.

If this pressure continues to happen, a callus will form, which will provide a more permanent protection.

You might want to take a few days off, and let the blister dry out and turn into a callus.

You could also try putting a band aid over, let the blister break, and keep a band aid over the rupture. Clean and re-band aid frequently.

It will eventually turn into a callus which will fix the problem.
Reply:This is easy to fix. First off always long socks, always. Next get your, Mom, sis or girlfriend to buy you a package of makeup sponges. The flat or round ones. Not the triangles. They can easily fit under your sock and be a soft buffer between your skate and foot. I have used this when I had problems as well as everyone on my team. This is a figure skater trick. They sell the pads in the pro shop but you pay like five bucks for what will cost a little over a buck in the grocery store. Good. Luck.
Reply:maybe look at the area where you feel the pain on the inside of the skate, if it is sharp or exposed, try putting a layer or two of hockey tape on it to cover it up.
Reply:Ok the idiot below me dosent know what they are saying. I have over 30 years experience of hockey. I would of made the draft but unfortantly i broke my ankle and that was the end of my career.

Ok that problem is easy to fix. If you are wearing short socks thats a problem. You dont need quality socks, you need "tube socks" known as long or high socks. If not, loosen up the skate a little and if that dosent work chances are the skates are too small. RBK rollerblades are very good though.
Reply:^^^ Thats what I did. My moms a nurse so she has access to foam pads and gauze so she'd bring them home for us if we had that problem. I did have that problem with my old skates. We'd cut a small piece of the foam, stick it over the blister or the part that was rubbing and then I'd wrap it with sticky gauze. It works wonders. And when you skate, you can barely tell the padding is there. Try it, it works.

Theyre "sure grip zoom" wheels. if you would like to google them to see what they look like. if that helps. i have blues ones and on the other foot green and pink

How do i clean my wheels?
Mr Clean Magic Eraser is a good way. I always use nail polish remover - the clear stuff, without acetone. (Of course, I have used the clear with acetone, and it works, too. I'm just afraid of what it will do to my wheels!) Hot, soapy water will work to - if you want to scrub a little! :) Just be careful not to get the bearings too wet!
Reply:i have always used bleach with a scourer it fetches all the dirt off

good luck
Reply:mr clean magic eraser cleans everything!
Reply:I use green Alcohol to clean my Zoom Wheels, The rink that I go to is so dirty that I clean my wheels twice in the three hours that I'm there and it works great.

Help!!!!!!!?

Ok, so I was making my Christmas list, yeah, but I want good roller skates or roller blades. So here's my question- where in or close to Cedar Hill can I find size 7 maybe size 8 skates? I can't order them online either, because I need to physically try them on. Can anyone help? :D

Help!!!!!!!?
A good sporting goods store should be fine, though I'm not sure which ones exist in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Here in New York, the major ones are Modell's, Sports Authority, Dick's Sporting Goods, places like that. I've seen Sports Authority and Dick's nationwide, but I know that Modell's is just a mid-Atlantic thing. Some of these general sporting-goods stores, however, might not have the best selection in any particular sport. Still, there's a good chance of getting lucky.

As for huge department stores like Wal-Mart, I'd probably stay away. Their sporting-goods departments are often not very good, and it'll be difficult to get quality stuff there.

There might be a few local mom-and-pop skate shops around as well, which I would obviously never have heard of (from over a thousand miles away). However, look up sporting goods in your area and see what's around. Word of mouth via local residents is also a good thing.

What hockey stick should I get?

Hey, I have been playing street hockey (no roller blades) for about six or seven years now and I was wondering what stick I should get. I started off as a goalie then moved up to offense and used a wooden stick for the past three or four years. I just picked up a CCM Vector (Mark Recchi) around May or so. I have been using it and it is great, but is there any other stick that is good for around the same price (anywhere from $60-$110). I play both offense and defense and I am 14. Is there any stick or shaft and blade combo that is good like my vector and is around my price range?

Oh, by the way. I play from late November to March then May to September. The courts our rec league plays on are concrete and those squares with the whole in them.

Thanks.

What hockey stick should I get?
I think everyone is missing the fact that you play on concrete. As sticks would wear down quite a bit on concrete don't go for anything too expensive. They have come out with sticks designed for street hockey and that might be a good choice. They hold up well and wear down similar to a super blade.

Good luck!
Reply:Sticks are like the clothes you wear...you gotta find one that makes you comfortable. Go to a good hockey store in your area or maybe a ***** Sporting Goods and just check them out. How do you like your blade? How heavy? Wood or graphite? All of these factors go into what you will be successful with...personally, my favorite stick was a Teemu Selanne Titan...it has a blade that you can get a wicked wrist shot with!
Reply:You could pick up a Easton Synergy Si-Core Grip if you really wanted one for around $110. This is an amazing stick, I used it when it first came out.

And at the Price it is at its a good deal.

http://www.sportchek.ca/sportchek/do/sty... Check it out.

If not i would go for the CCM Vector 120, its only about 79.99 CDN right now and it used to be a top of the line stick.

Blading and Skateboards?

Has anybody ever attempted to use a skateboard whilst wearing roller blades? My 9 year old daughter wants to know, but don't worry, she is very sensible and doesn't own either blades or a board, she is a heely girl.

Ice skating and rollerblading?

do any ice skaters feel that when they go roller blading they just can't? i was at the roller rink and it was time to skate backwards and i kind forgot there was no toe pick and i fell really bad on my elbow. i was just wondering if any other ice skater have this problem too. i know i should just keep practicing but i need to get a new pair of roller blades since i grew out of my old ones. =]

Ice skating and rollerblading?
haha, yea, the same thing has happened to me, actually. aren't we cool. XD
Reply:This happened in an opposite why to me. I used to rollerblade as a kid and as i stopped i started ice skating and I found it extremely different! hah. I don't think i'll try rollerblading..
Reply:I played roller hockey for 6 years and then my high school got an ice hockey team. Ice skating was 10 times easier for me then roller blading. I don't know much about the toe pick or what its for, but I do know that going back to roller blading is harder.

What size shoe is a person whose food measures 8 inches heel to toe?

What size roller skates or roller blades would a person with a 8 inch foot heel to toe wear. Roller skates can't be tried on since they are only avaiable online at ebay and wondering how to measure size. Would size of skates be the same as sneakers, shoes, etc?

Most sports stores sell rollerblades. Try them on there for a good fit before you buy them online.

Aw, come on... seven questions?

Are you looking for homework help?

Good luck. You should be reading your books more. Ask your teacher for extra help.
Reply:You could have figured out the answers in the time it took to type the questions!

Some hints:

1) In Physics-speak, there is no such thing as "centrifugal force". Interia is the reason that objects tend to move in the same linear direction.

2) In order for an object to maintain circular motion, there must be some force pulling the object towards the center of the rotation. This is called the centripetal force.

3) Something has to provide this centripetal force. If a toy is being whirled around on a string, this would be the string. For a car going around the curve, the cetripetal force is provided by the friction bewtween the tires in contact with the road.

Do yourself a favor and read your book! It'll help come test time!

I dont want to quit,help?

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING:i've been skateboarding for about 2 years.skateboarding is my life,i love to do it.and just this week,i went to a field trip to a roller-skating rink,i had fun.when i got home to skateboard,i went back inside after about 10 minuites of skateboarding, and got my old roller blades

i roller bladed for about 30 munutes.i used to skateboard,go inside, skateboard,go inside etc. for hours..and now, i dont feel inspired in skateboarding anymore! can someone give me ideas or help.i loved skateboarding...i dont want to quit it.iv'e already gotten this far from 2 years.

I dont want to quit,help?
Think about why you loved skateboarding. For example, if you loved the thrill of landing tricks, then learn some new tricks or just put together some cool combos. Skate something new, watch some videos, or skate with buddies to get motivated. If what you loved before no longer interests you then maybe it is time to take a break. I'm not saying to quit, but come back when you miss it.
Reply:Maybe you just need a new challenge. Nothing says you have to give up skateboarding. If you still love it, do it ... but try something new too.
Reply:they pretty much said it all. ^^^^^^

What is the best age to start skateboarding?

My partner and I are thinking about taking his son who will be 6 in December to Skateboard lessons. As it is only £2.00 membership per year and £2.50 per lesson until he can drop in.

So what do you think is a good age to start?

We would also like to get him on roller blades, would you wait until he can get to grips with skateboarding before we chuck him on to roller blades?

What is the best age to start skateboarding?
Sounds good- he's old enough to learn to balance so go for it! I had roller skates (blades weren't invented yet) at the age of five, and although I fell over a lot all I got were scrapes and I remember having lots of fun. I also learned to ride a bike (without stabilisers) when I was six. The lessons sound like a bargain too.

Perhaps if you wait for him to have good balance on a skateboard it will make things easier for him when he learns to rollerblade as he'll have that more developed sense of balance. Wish him good luck from me!
