Whats a good hockey roller blade?

Not really expensive.

Whats a good hockey roller blade?
I wouldn't use a composite stick on concrete. Waste of money. It will disintegrate in no time. You want ABS plastic blade aka Hickory Hosel

For skates, if you're just playing on concrete go for something cheap cause they will get torn up. I like to buy used skates. Its really just a matter of preference, but I like Mission. I got some the other week for $40. Needed new wheels so that bumped the price up to $60.

Be sure to use hard wheels with at least a 80a hardness rating.
Reply:Good insight Dave - here's some additional info I can give you:

Whether if the hosel is hickory, wood or graphite reinforced matters little. If you have an extra shaft (maybe a one-piece where you broke the blade?) cut it around the hosel and put a blade in .. if it doesn't fit (as all one-piece sticks are tapered) put it on the opposite end, take the tape off and re-tape it for your new "top of stick". ABS in the blade will last much longer than fibreglass and using a composite stick on asphalt is pointless. Blades that I can recommend include CCM Heat 252, Sherwood 405, RBK1, Easton X-treme abs .. most of these are also available on 1-piece wood sticks with ABS blade for about the same price. (around $20) It will be heavier as a wood stick than as a 2-piece combo but can be excellent for practise as a result.

And yeah, if you got indoor wheels with your skates, keep them for indoor (sport court) because asphalt will tear them up. Depending on your weight you want wheels with a hardness of 80a - 84a. Hyper and Kryptonics make pretty good ones .. Labeda's better for indoor IMO. I would NOT go with used skates, roller hockey is often played outside so not only do in-lines tend to get dirtier than ice skates, but more sweat is accumulated. Mission has quality rollerblades in that price range, CCM has some pretty good ones too but they're harder to come by. Just like when you pick out your ice skates, try them on locally. You might find them cheaper online but know what you want first.
