Roller Derby is making a come-back like everything else?

What do you think about Roller Derby we have lots of teams in my state. It's making a come-back. No men's teams yet. But I'm going to join once I learn to roller blade. Give me your thots?

Did you mean thoughts? I am an old fart who used to skate in the Roller Derby. My main thought would be to have fun. Enjoy yourself. Listen to those who are coaching you and leave your attitude at the door. Learn as much as you can about the whole business. There are more opportunities for someone who can contribute more than just skating. For instance I was involved in promotion, ticket office, score keeper, announcer, publicist, unit manager, track construction, payroll, accountant.

Reply:I think they've tried this several times in the past decade and they've all failed miserably.





Yes, it's still got a "cult" following %26amp; my grandpa used to watch it all the time. Now that I look at the "sport" as an adult - there's not enough there to keep me amused.
