I would like to buy my brother roller blades. He is 13 yrs old and he is into the skate park and doing tricks.

My little brother is 13 years old and he is beginning to go to local the skate park and learn new tricks. He doesn't have any "trick blades" so I want to get him some (as the holidays are approaching.) I need something that works well, looks "cool", and won't burn a hole in my wallet. I really don't know anything about blading, so please help.

It's difficult to find inline skates that are any good for anything less than 100$. I have K2s, but the trick comes in with the type of wheels and the ABEC bearings (I'm not sure about the spelling, but they are the little things that make the wheels spin). Wheels come in different sizes and hardnesses. Bearings come in different speeds. I don't know much about trick skating, but I think that those are the smaller wheels. Also, you will want to get him the harder wheels because he's mostly on concrete. Softer ones will wear quicker.

The best thing to do would be to consult someone who does the kind of skating he's interested in who might understand which particular skates he would need.
Reply:inline skates are good
Reply:why dont you just look in diffrent department stores like target.. jeez
Reply:figure skating
Reply:the best thing is to do is take him and let him pick them out and that way his got want you wanted for him and he'll be tickled in the same way .
