What are the best roller blades to have?

i like roller blading and i like doing jumps on them but i want to start doing some grinds and i dont know what skates will be the best for me i skate neanly every day and im obsessed

What are the best roller blades to have?
I know inline skaters (including aggressive) and skateboarders are fighting to get their own category on Y!A . . . quite often these questions end up here.

I noticed many of the inline skaters go there if you want to talk about grinds and other tricks.





We're ice skaters here . . . mostly figure skaters.
Reply:Since you want to do grinds, you should be looking at Agressive skates. Pic skates mentioned in another answer are made to mimic ice figure skates and would be no use at all for the type of jumps done in agressive. They are built like tanks with short flat wheels so that you can land a jump from quite a height.





If you were going for "fancy footwork" moves and some jumping, you would be more looking for "street" skates. Some of them may have grind plates but they are much lighter and more for quick moves. The wheels are just a little smaller than most recreational/fitness skates.





Rollerblade and K2 are the big makers on inline skates in the US. You can be more sure of finding replacement grind plates for them.





Try on every agressive skate you can. You want a skate that becomes part of your foot. It should be snug all around so that it doesn't wobble when you are grinding or landing a jump.

Reply:The best kind for jumps are the newer pic skates, not sure if you can grind on them. Go to a sports store that sells skates and they will be able to advise you, meeting you in person then people over net.
