Were can i buy this product for my roller blades?
FYI: The term inline includes all skates where the wheels are in one line. That would include race, fitness, recreational, hockey (the reason for the Rollerblade company being formed), street/slalom, and figure.

Good suggestion of not using water. It cannot cut the previous lubricants which will hold the crud in the skates.

However, you should be using water somewhere in the process and then drying the bearings so that they do not rust.

Citrus cleaners are water based and will cut oils but not work on greases very well. Since it is water based, you cannot let the bearings sit in the solution for a long time or it will destroy them.

There are dozens of citrus cleaners out there, you don't need one specificaly marketed for skates but you do want one without pumice (abrasive rock, used for cleaning hands).

Almost any light oil also works well as the first cleaning pass. I use lamp oil which is a purified versioin of kerosene that doesn't stink. Kerosene is known for it's ability to remove grease and oil.

Whatever you use, remove one shield so that the cleaner can get in the bearings and be cleaned out later.

Put them in a plastic jar and shake them to clean them. You also want to take them out a couple times and spin the bearings to move any dirt that is hiding under the bearing cage out to where it can be rinsed out.

If you are using citrus cleaner, you need to wash it out or it will cause rust and harm the new lubricant. Once you wash it out, you need to dry the bearings so that they don't rust.

If you are using a light oil, you can drain it out onto paper towels to get rid of most of it then add the new lubricant.

I typicaly use soap and water to clean out the lamp oil, then rince under a faucet with plain water. I then rinse them in denatured alcohol to dry out the water.

Other people use hair dryers or an oven to get rid of the water fast.

Once the bearings are clean and dry (or damp with light oil), you can leave them sit for long periods of time safely.

When you are ready to put them back in your skates, just put in whatever lubricant you prefer.

You do not need to put the shield back on. If you face it to the inside of the wheel, it doesn't matter if it is on.

An extra suggestion that I have is to get an extra set of bearings. Then you can clean them at your leasure whithout you being off your skates till you are ready to. If you get a set wet, you can throw them in a jar of light oil or alcohol to prevent them from rusting till you have time to clean them.
